Quick Apply Full-time 1 hour ago Full Job Description Heritage Prairie Farm in Elburn, IL is looking for a seasonal General Maintenance/Groundskeeper for our 2023 season.
We are a small, certified organic farm that specializes in vegetables, microgreens, weddings, and private events.
Our ideal candidate has enthusiasm for horticulture and loves working outdoors.
Groundskeeper/General Maintenance As a groundskeeper your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Mowing, weeding, watering, and general lawn maintenance Installation and maintenance of perennial plants and flowers Trim bushes, shrubs, and hedges Use a variety of tools including:
cultivators, hedge clippers, rakes, shovels, hoes, fertilizer spreaders, lawnmowers, leaf blowers, and power clippers Pick up and remove trash from grounds, empty trash and recycling containers As general maintenance, your responsibilities will include but not limited to:
Complete work and repair orders in a timely fashion Estimate time and extent of repairs Perform routine preventative maintenance Maintain barn, garage, and other out-buildings in a clean, neat, and organized manner Clean and maintain tractors, lawn mowers, implements and tools Basic carpentry, electrical, and plumbing
Qualifications:
Strong, resilient mental attitude - the ability to keep up in a fast paced, dynamic, labor-intensive environment while keeping a positive attitude is must Must be willing to work outside in all weather conditions Ability to do manual labor for extended periods of time Ability to endure periods of walking, standing, bending, stretching, pushing, pulling, climbing ladders, and/or kneeling Must be able to lift and carry 20
pounds over uneven dirt and gravel paths Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, especially mornings and weekends Ability to work on tasks individually or as a team Willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done Previous experience working with plants or outdoors is required At Heritage Prairie Farm, we're committed to being a great place to work.

Terms of Employment:
30-35 hours per week:
Wednesday - Sunday, 8AM-2PM $20-$30/hour - based on experience Job Type:
